Time for AI: The 'too busy' problem is a software-age hangover
Recommend
yesterday
Robert Clougherty
Higher education keeps asking: "Where do we find the time for AI?"
My answer: the "too busy" problem isn't a scheduling issue — it's a software-age hangover. We spent decades buying bricks without mortar, and now we're buried in the maintenance of systems that were never designed to work together.
AI is an accelerant. It will scale whatever pattern you feed it — fragmentation or alignment. The choice is yours, but it starts with treating AI as an enterprise priority, not another round of tool buying.
